In what is perhaps a beautiful foretelling of our energy future – crowds gathered in St. Paul Minnesota yesterday, to watch a coal smokestack come crashing down. Hundreds of people were on hand to witness the skyline and the air quality of the region become a little bit cleaner. Gas Struggles Become Class Struggles

It’s also pretty obvious not everyone is taking it sitting down. The Unemployed: In June, Continental Airlines [...]Today the price of oil is $140 a barrel. Maybe they thought when we said we needed a moratorium on coal we meant solar?? As much as I wish this was an Onion headline it was in The New York Times today. Seriously. In all their foresight and wisdom our federal government just put a moratorium on new solar projects on public land for at least [...]Maybe they thought when we said we needed a moratorium on coal we meant solar?? New York State thanks the SSBx

As a New Yorker, I want to extend a huge thank you to the Sustainable South Bronx for their legislative victory!  With SSBx lobbying, Albany passed a $4.50/sq foot green roof tax abatement policy! That translates into 25% of the cost of the green roof.  Why does this matter?  Jobs, food, efficiency –> an ecologically responsible, [...]As a New Yorker, I want to extend a huge thank you to the Sustainable South Bronx for their legislative victory!  With SSBx lobbying, Albany passed a $4.50/sq foot green roof tax abatement policy!
