Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone - as with every country in the world - is likely to be affected by climate change. The country has coastal areas that are under threat from erosion caused by rising sea levels, and is experiencing a number of social and economic problems that are likely to be made worse by climate change. But, as one of the countries that emits the lowest levels of greenhouse gases, is Sierra Leone bearing the brunt of a problem that over which it has no control?

Young people from Waltham Forest Woodcraft Folk in East London have been making links with the Positive Music Project in Freetown, Sierra Leone - they've also been raising money to support the project. The project, co-ordinated by iEARN Sierra Leone, aims to provide the opportunity for young people to have a voice in the future development of their country.

This audio sees some of the young people from the PMP project introducing themselves and showing their freestyling talents, followed by a song - written by project member D-Mark - called Oh Salone.
