Becky, Julie and Daisy kick off the day with a gentle introduction to the C-Cast project and the topic of Climate Change – including special guest Adam Hart-Davis.
09:00 – The POWER show
Will and Sarah look at the future of energy and how different ways of generating power can help tackle climate change. There’s also a very special low-carbon breakfast to be had, and a look at how young people in Scotland are using renewable energy to spread the climate change message.
10:00 – The Great Big Climate Quiz
Think you’re a climate expert? Or feeling a bit rusty? Join in with our quiz to prove how much you know, or brush up your knowledge.
11:00 – On the Go
Find a fresh way to travel – that doesn’t have to involve a plane. Including tips on climate-friendly ways to get around, and a live link-up with two young people on their way to India avoiding the airports – hopefully they’ll be somewhere in Nepal, but it all depends on the trains...
12:00 – Low Carbon Lunch
Chill out at lunchtime with Sleeper Cell – the winners of the C-Change Battle of the Bands competition – as they launch their new album. Plus, hear about projects in Leicester and Yorkshire where young people have been getting to grips with climate change.
13:00 – Low Carbon special
Young people attending today’s Climate Change Day of Action in the studio discussing their vision of a sustainable future – presented by the Low Carbon Show’s Phil England.
14:00 – Climate Talk
Students from Lambeth College find out how aware young people in south London are about climate change, as well as a looking at the lessons we could be learning from public transport around the world.
15:00 – On your doorstep
Join Ben and Oscar as they seek and destroy some of the myths surrounding climate change and visit charities around the country who are engaging young people with the topic in loads of different ways. Plus, there’s live music from Tin Man and a special report from Ireland.
17:00 – Walk Time
Ditch the car, strap on your radio and walk home with Lee and Edmund. The best music, features to make you think, plus interviews with environmental guru George Monbiot and a look at how young people from London are engaging with climate change in Sierra Leone.
