Hi, we're Royal Arcade, an indie/new wave 5-piece from Ipswich (unfortunately).
We play a blend of Interpol-esque melodies, mixed with the sonic weirdness of acts such as Muse and Radiohead.
The band first formed back in spring 2006, when Jon and Burton (members of another band previously), quit and formed a new one with Tim. For a few months the three jammed out some ideas, but everything came together when we found our vocallist, Jo.
Things really kicked off from here on. With sets at Kesgrave Family Day and Fireworks Night, we cemented our reputation for being as tight live as we are on reocrding, and being a crowd-pleasing spectacle at the same time (ie. we didn't play any death metal)
Recently, we finished reocrding out debut EP, Hidden. We recorded this over a long period of time in TLR Studios, discovering how many different distortions we could use at once on Alex's guitar (4 at once - listen to the solo on Hidden Apologies). We feel the recording is easily as professional, and the songs as catchy, as many touring bands out there.
In the near future, the band has a slot at Music On The Green (an annual music festival in Martlesham), and a range of summer gigs lined up, that are not quite finalised yet.
Please vote nicely!
Love to you all!
Climate Change it on going in our world today, it's important that people are made aware of what can be done to prevent it and together we can help make this world a safer more stable place. If we all work together doing just the simple things like using energy efficient bulbs, recycling and walking instead of using the car then revolution is only around the corner.
