Climate:Mobile is a carbon calculator which runs on your mobile phone. You can use it to work out how much carbon dioxide (and other greenhouse gases) you are putting into the atmosphere. It will also give you tips on how to change your lifestyle to be more climate friendly.
The earth's atmosphere acts like a greenhouse with earth in the middle of it. It lets sunlight in and stops the warmth getting out. Without it the earth would be freezing and too cold for us to survive. But you can have too much of a good thing. We are releasing too many gases that are adding to the atmosphere and as the greenhouse gets thicker it is trapping more and more heat in. This began when we started burning more and more coal and oil. The carbon dioxide given off through burning these fossil fuels is heating up our world, and fast.
Climate:Mobile helps you work out exactly how much you are contributing to this effect, and what you can do to reduce how much greenhouse gas you release.
