What is it?

Earth is around four-and-a-half billion years old. And in all those years the temperature of our planet has always been going up and down. It was the sea and the sun, volcanoes and meteorites and continents drifting that made the Earth’s temperature change in the past.

But since we human beings began roaming the planet, the temperature has been changing much more than ever before – and it’s on the way up.

Scientists have discovered that over the last few hundred years humans have been releasing gases into the air. This began when we started burning more and more coal and oil. The gases given off through burning these fossil fuels are heating up our world, and fast.

Some people call it Climate Change others call it Global Warming.
