Extreme weather such as heat waves, storms, floods, windstorms and drought caused three times the amount of weather-related catastrophes in the last 10 years than in the 1960s. Scientists expect this to happen more and more frequently.
As more of the sun’s energy is trapped into the weather system an exaggeration of it’s force and unpredictability is expected.
The disasters already seen, such as hurricanes and cyclones, are predicted to occur more frequently and with more strength as well as more extreme storms and prolonged droughts.
