The Rules

In order to enter the C-Change Battle of the Bands, you must agree to the following rules:

  1. This competition is open to UK residents who must be aged between 11 and 21 on the competition closing date, 18 June 2007. In the case of groups of two or more members the average age may not exceed 21 years. Artists with a recording contract are excluded from this competition.
  2. Entries can only be accepted if they are accompanied by the entrant’s details as set out on the official entry form.
  3. Entries may only be made through the C-Change website at www.switchonswitchoff.org/battleofthebands. Entries will not be accepted unless all details on the entry form are completed in full.
  4. To enter, bands/artist may upload one tracks to the site in MP3 format. All music uploaded must be original pieces of work and tracks must not infringe any copyright, trademarks or similar intellectual property rights of any other artist. Winning candidate must guarantee that music supplied is cleared of all rights & relevant licenses.
  5. The content of entries must not contain offensive or discriminatory material. Any such entries will be disqualified.
  6. The closing date for entries is 18 June 2007 after which further entries will only be accepted at the discretion of the C-Change project.
  7. The first round of the competition will take place online between 7 May and 22 June. The five entries which received the greatest number of votes during that period will be invited to perform at the final concert on 7 July at Clapham Common Bandstand, London. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed to a maximum amount which will be agreed with participants prior to attending the final concert.
  8. Judging of the final round will take place between 16:30 and 20:30 on 7 July 2007 and the decision of the judges is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Bands/artists will be required to arrive at Clapham Common by 12:00 on 7 July.
  9. It is assumed that parents/guardians have approved entry of any participants under the age of 18 on 7 July 2007. Entrants cannot be accepted as winners if this is subsequently found not to be the case. Entrants who are under 18 years of age at the closing date will be required to submit a parental consent form if they are invited to perform in the final concert.
  10. A list of winners will be posted on the C-Change website after 7 July 2007.
  11. The C-Change project reserves the right to reproduce tracks submitted by the competition winners or runners up for 12 months from the closing date and will endeavour to credit the individual/group responsible if using their material.
  12. By entering, entrants agree that they will make themselves available, at the C-Change project’s expense, for publicity and promotional purposes in the context of the competition and that any photographs and / or footage and / or audio recordings may be used by the C-Change project as they think fit. This content may be used for a period of 12 months by the C-Change project for promotional purposes. All successful candidates must consent to be photographed for promotional purposes.   13. Entrants may submit one entry only.
  14. Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered. If, due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to offer the stated prize, we reserve the right to award a substitute prize.
  15. This competition can be withdrawn and the rules changed for any reason without notice.
  16. By entering the competition entrants agree to be bound by the rules.
